SYRELL RACING 2019 CREW

 – Joey Hawksby Jr. (Chassis Engineer/Car Builder)
Considered to be the most successful Supermodified car builder/designer of all-time at Oswego Speedway.  His chassis design took the sport by storm 15-years ago and now more than 3/4 of the field is made up of the Hawk Chassis.  Joey Hawksby Jr. has consistently updated and revolutionized his own design, making newer and faster Supermodifieds at Oswego.  A gifted engineer and fabricator, Syrell Racing is proud to be partnered with Hawk Chassis and fields its car right out of the Hawk shop in Minetto, NY.

– Gary Syrell
Gary Syrell has been a part of Supermodified racing for over 40 years, starting as a crew member for the late, Jimmy Shampine.  Since that time, the Syrell family has become one of the great racing families in Oswego Speedway’s rich history.  Gary started as the Syrell Racing driver in 1990 and in 2002 Gary and team hired its first driver from outside the family, in Doug Didero.  Since then, Gary has been at the helm of one of the most successful teams in Speedway history with Didero, Dave McKnight and now Michael Barnes at the wheel.
