OSWEGO, NY (June 4, 2019) – Syrell Racing showed speed in Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified opener on Memorial Day Weekend, but failed to post top five finishes on the afternoon. With a week off to regroup, the team is poised to attempt a repeat of last year’s Twin 35 performances at Oswego, with pilot Michael Barnes at the controls this Saturday.
Following a seventh-place effort in the first Twin 50 event on May 26, Barnes hustled to the lead in the day’s second 50-lapper and appeared well on his way to victory in the No. 68 machine. However, a broken bolt in the steering of his racer forced Barnes out of the event only 16-laps in.
Now, Barnes and the Syrell Racing team ready for the always exciting Twin 35’s. Last year, the Syrell’s swept both Twin 35 events and hopes are high to return to victory lane again this weekend.
Hot laps begin on Saturday at 4:15 p.m., with time trials set for 6 p.m. Heat racing will take the green flag at 6:45 p.m.
